Homework from 9-23 and 9-24

Hey everyone!

Today, we went over how to make graphs in Excel. More specifically, we worked on making graphs in Excel. A day classes took a quiz that we didn't have time for on Tuesday because of the early dismissal as well.

Homework was to complete the graphs, (If you read this, quietly see me for some free candy when no one else is around.) and then cut and paste them into a word document, then email it as an attachment to FireRef@gmail.com.

Also, Study! Test next Wednesday or Thursday, and we have a review game on Monday and Tuesday!

Have a nice weekend!

Homework from 9/21 and 9/22

Hi everyone!

Today we went over the homework from last class, and spent some time answering questions about anything from the first unit. For the A-Day students, we delayed the quiz scheduled for today until Thursday because of the short periods today.

Homework: Study for the text! - A day students, you still have the quiz coming up - B day students will have taken it on 9/22.

Have a great night! Good luck Central and SV Soccer teams tonight at the stadium!

Homework from 9/17 and 9/20

Hey everyone!

Today in class we did a bunch of different things:

1) We had a quiz on the significant figures rules
2) We went over the problems from homework and did a few on the board as students wanted to see them.
3) We did some practice with significant figures problems - level one on page 59 in class, and then went over them.
4) We went through lessons 6 (Metric System) and 8 (Scientific Notation).
5) I handed out a study guide for the first test, which is September 29th and 30th.
6) I announced a quiz on the fake units (ooblongs, tatungs, etc) next class.

Homework

1) Page 50 - Level 1
2) Page 59-60 - Level 2
3) Page 67 - Level 1
4) Quiz on Dimensional Analysis fake units
5) Lab report due! (assigned last class)

PLEASE make sure to check for all of the problems in the Level 1 or 2 problems assigned - many times, there are subsections - if you don't get to the next level when going down the page, you haven't done all of the problems!

Have a great weekend, and GO SV! (football game tonight!)

Homework from 9-15 and 9-16

Hey everyone!

Today we went over the homework that was due today (the measurement worksheets and the first of the dimensional analysis problems). I did check it to give points for having it done.

We talked about what was due for the lab report, which isn't due for two classes. Check with your partner to get the information you need for this one.

We then went over how to do more complicated problems from the second half of Lesson 5.

We also went over lesson 7 on Reliability, Accuracy/Precision, and started going over the rules for significant figures.

Homework:

1) Due on Friday/Monday - Page 45, Level 2, all - Also, we will be having a quiz on the significant figures rules.
2) Due on Tuesday/Wednesday - Lab report - details were given in class.

Have a great night! Keep checking back for a free candy opportunity maybe soon!

Homework from 9/9 and 9/10

Hi everyone!

Today we went over pages 18 and 19 in class, and then I went through the rest of lesson four on measurement (the second half), and lesson 5 on dimensional analysis. Homework is as follows:

Pages 35, 38, 39
Page 45 - Level one.

You MUST show your work for page 45 - answers only will not be acceptable for credit.

All of this is due on Wednesday or Thursday, because Monday and Tuesday we will be doing a lab.

Thanks! Enjoy the weekend!

Homework from 9/7-9/8

Hi everyone!

Sorry this is late - I am not quite back into the swing of things getting these posted in a timely fashion. I think I'm just going to try to upload them right after the first class I assign them, and see how that works.

In class today, we covered some information on the scientific method, including pointing out some things that will be on the first test - so if you were absent, make sure you see someone to get the notes on what was covered.

We also spent a lot of time picking lab groups and going through the various equipment located at each lab station. You are responsible to know, for the first test, all of the equipment on the list in your drawer, and under the sink. You are welcome to come in anytime I am in the classroom, and poke around through these locations, working on learning names and functions of the various

I assigned pages 18-19 from the book for homework.

Have a great nite!

Hi everyone!

Sorry this is late - I have to get used to posting them again.

However, the good news is there is no homework over the long weekend! (except for those of you who still need to get your safety contracts turned in... tsk tsk)

Have a great long weekend, figure out who you want to work with as a lab partner, and see you on Tuesday/Wednesday of next week!

Does anyone read me anymore? (and some homework)

Hi everyone!

I wanted to post a quick note to let people know I'm not seeing anyone checking this site for my assignments for the last month or so. I had a prize for people reading up on it a little ways back, but there was no response. If anyone reads this within the next 2-3 days (the rest of this week), and tells me about what I wrote here, I'll give you a treat.

Homework from 2/9 and 2/10 is page 218.

Thanks!

Homework from 1-14 and 1-15

Hi everyone!

Sorry for skipping a few days. Today we went over the lab that was done last class, and walked through all of the calculatons since the students will have to do the same thing for part two. On Wednesday and Thursday of this week (I'm posting this on Tuesday, the recording day that the students aren't here), we will be doing part two in class. The homework from 1-14 and 1-15 isn't due until Friday 1-22 or Monday 1-25. It is a review - We will be going over this on Friday and Monday, and then having a test on Tuesday and Wednesday following.

Homework from 1/6 and 1/7

Hi everyone!

Sorry this is a little late. Today in class we did some more examples of conversions between mass and moles, and answered some molar mass problems. We then went over how to do some more types of problems, and the students had a little time to work on assignments. We also did some fire demos which the students enjoyed immensely!

Homework was page 185 (all) and 186 (1-4).

Good luck!

Homework from 1/4 and 1/5

Hi everyone!

Welcome back!

Today we spent some time reviewing names and formulas for chemical formulas. We also reviewed some old math concepts from earlier in the year - significant figures, dimensional analysis, and conversion factors. We then learned how to calculate molecular or molar mass, and convert between or among mass, moles, and molecules. A number of examples were given in the class, so if you were absent, make sure that you get copies of them from people as soon as possible.

Homework - Page 174 1-10, and you must write out the work for each of these problems. Also, Page 175 - all of the problems.

Have a great night, and get some sleep - most of you didn't have enough coming back into school, and I fell into this group as well!

Almost time to go back!

Hey!

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year, or Happy Holidays, to everyone who checks this. It's almost the end of the break (and I'm just as sorry to see it end as I'm sure all of you are - haha). Just a reminder that there was NO HOMEWORK from me over the break, so you don't have to worry if anything was due upon your return - there isn't!

You may want to check your grades online in the next couple of days - I should be uploading a bunch of things once we get back - I'm working on those last tests from just before break shortly (yes, I saved them until the end of the break - nothing different from you guys and anything you have to do for school - haha), and it would be a good idea to make sure if you are missing anything, you get it made up - the quarter should be ending around the middle of January.

Enjoy your last couple of days off!

Mr. Rinke
